The United States is seeking volunteers to help monitor rainfall for the sixth consecutive year in a row. The state has won the CoCoRaHS Cup for recruiting the most new volunteers during the national recruiting drive for the volunteer program. The deadline for the national competition, "Rain Gauge Rally 2026," is April 30. Volunteers' data is crucial for state climatologists as they work on drought monitoring and flood management, and verify high rainfall totals.
