Theater legend Audra McDonald has revealed that she and her husband, Will Swenson, have been married for 13 years. McDonald revealed their secret to maintaining a successful marriage, which includes making time to spend no more than three weeks apart with work, and maintaining a strong bond. They also emphasized the importance of communication and keeping friends first. McDonald and Swenson first met in 2007 while working together on the 110 in the Shade Broadway revival. They have since welcomed their daughter, Sally James McDonald-Swenson, in 2016. McDonald currently plays Dorothy Scott on HBO's period drama The Gilded Age and is the record-holder for the most Tony Awards.
