Erik Miller, a former San Francisco Giants pitcher, had a heated exchange with Sal Stewart, after recording the first save of his career. The argument began after Miller struck out Stewart with a sinker, marking the first time he had ever done so. While Miller did not appear to directly target Stewart, Stewart took exception to Miller's celebration of his victory. The confrontation escalated after Miller began angrily shouting at Stewart, who then yelled, "Sit the (expletive) down" in the direction of Stewart. Both teams returned to their respective clubhouses without physical aggression before the incident occurred.
