Google is deepening its relationship with the Defense Department (Dod) and expanding the role of its Gemini AI models inside the military bureaucracy. The company will introduce a feature that allows civilian and military personnel to build custom AI agents for unclassified work on GenAI.mil, the Pentagon's enterprise AI portal. The DOD's workforce of over 3 million people will now be able to use a no-code tool called Agent Designer to create their own digital assistants for repetitive administrative tasks. The move comes after Anthropic sued the Trump administration for designating the company as a supply chain risk, a move traditionally reserved for foreign adversaries. The Pentagon's technology chief, Emil Michael, confirmed that the dispute will not be resolved through the courts.
