T-Mobile has been under fire for increasing prices, adding fees, or restricting discounts, despite recent efforts to retain loyal customers. Last year, T-Mobile increased its Regulatory Programs & Telco Recovery fee and removed its autopay discount for customers who make early payments with a credit card. The carrier also increased its late fee from $7 to $10, impacting customers who pay their bills late. Despite these changes, the company's postpaid phone churn reached 0.93% in 2025, an increase from the 0.86% reported in 2024. Despite this increase in churn being attributed to the rise in NPS (net promoter score) and churn, T.Mobile CEO Srini Gopalan stated that churn across the wireless industry was elevated last year due to consumers reaching the end of their device contracts. The company is also reportedly planning to charge customers a fee when they purchase devices through Apple. The fee will not be charged up front, but will be charged to a customer's T-mobile account when they do so, meaning it will appear on the following month's bill.
