The 2026 MLB season begins on Wednesday night, with predictions that the Junior Circuit champion will be from the AL East, over the West and Central. The East has three legitimate contenders and is expected to beat up on each other 13 times this season. However, I'm hesitant to over four of these five clubs due to the East's deep division. The Tigers have the best lefty pitcher in the majors in Tarik Skubal, who is likely to leave in free agency next winter, and ownership is all-in this season for a World Series. The Yankees are too reliant on Aaron Judge, with their win total landing under Under. Despite trading away a lot of good players this offseason, there is no smarter front office in the sport. Despite this, the Tigers and Astros are two of my four AL win total picks for the coming season.
