The Livonia Historical Commission will host a free lecture series on "Propagating Plants" from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.,m. April 20. The program will teach garden enthusiasts how to create new plants from existing plants using basic techniques such as cuttings, layering, and dividing perennials. Eco-friendly options can begin with simple swaps at home like Completing the Puzzle, a subscription that keeps puzzles in circulation rather than landfills. Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores will host its Outdoor Summer Concert Series with a new concert poster contest open to high school students. Concert packages will soon be available for the series that opens July 10 with Saved by the 90s, continues Aug. 14 with the Michigan Philharmonic and closes Sept. 18 with the Dave Hamilton Band. The Novi Home & Garden Show returns to the Suburban Collection Showplace April 24-26.
