Pam Bondi was fired by President Trump after 14 months in her tenure, ending which was reportedly due to her lack of success in prosecuting his enemies. Critics argue that Bondi used the Justice Department's resources to carry out political vendettas at the direction of the President. Her dismissal ends a turbulent period that saw her criticized for tailoring the Justice Dept. to pursue the president's enemies. The Department of Justice has been criticized for its focus on police excessive force cases, and for abandoning its Civil Rights Division to seek voter registration information from states and suing several schools and universities. However, the cases brought by the DOJ have largely involved embarrassing failures.
