Kennedy Jr. became the U.S. Health and Human Services secretary in 2025, but since then, Snopes has verified several authentic quotes attributed to him, including an unproven claim that children circumcised early "have double the rate of autism" and a false claim that the vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella contains "a lot of aborted fetus debris". These quotes, along with his anti-vaccine rhetoric and anti-autism campaigns, have been debunked by Snopes. Additionally, several false quotes falsely attributed to Kennedy include him allegedly telling Oprah Winfrey she was "overeating" and suggesting that the 2025 stock market crash could have reversed if investors drank cod liver oil.
