A Palm Beach board has delayed its decision on the design of a new building for President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club due to several changes requested. The Landmarks Preservation Commission voted March 18 to defer the project to its April 22 meeting. The proposed single-story building, which would house two large 400 kw generators, is needed to provide continuous power for security and surveillance systems at the president's primary residence. The team was given a list of alterations based on the commission's recommendations. Architect Rick Gonzalez of REG Architects was asked to revise design of windows on the building's east side, remove a crest over the building’s main entrance, and redesign the roof and an overhang above the door. The project is being funded by Mar-o-Lago, which is owned by a Florida registered corporation.
