The live-action Legend of Zelda movie is currently filming in Otago, New Zealand, the same locations as Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy. This indicates that the production will be more realistic and practical than CGI. The film, directed by Wes Ball, follows the character of Zelda, who is played by Evan Ainsworth and Bo Bragason. The movie is set to open on May 7, 2027.
