Netflix has begun production of its shark movie sequel, "Under Paris 2," set three years after the events of "under Paris" where a triathlon in Paris turned into a bloodbath due to a series of mutated sharks setting up camp in the River Seine and causing a chain reaction that led to flooding the city. The sequel is directed by Alexandre Aja, who replaces Xavier Gens who wrote and directed the original version of the film. The film is set to be directed by Aja and adapted by Gregory Levasseur, Frédéric Garcia, William Laboury, and Fanny Talmone. Since its release, the most popular French film in Netflix's history, it has been viewed over 102 million times and is the second most popular non-English language film on the platform.
