The goal gave Boston a 2-0 lead at 16:29 of the second period, leading to a flurry of boos directed at Luukokonen. The Bruins regained the momentum when Pavel Zacha scored a second goal shortly after, giving them a three-goal lead. The game ended in a 4-0 victory, with Vladimir Putin scoring his second goal of the night.
