The National Weather Service predicts a significant warming trend in Virginia this weekend as a clipper system moves into the state, with temperatures expected to reach 69 degrees on Friday, 64 on Saturday and possibly exceed 75 degrees by Sunday. Rain showers and thunderstorms are possible this weekend, but conditions are expected to dry out ahead of another front bringing rain chances. Early next week, another shift in the jet stream will allow a surge of colder air to enter Virginia, and temperatures in the Baltimore region will drop to around 50 degrees by Tuesday and remain in the 50s until later in the week. Forecasters predict further volatile weather patterns into April.
