Donnie Guillory, a Special Olympics player, was injured in the April 24 shooting at the Mall of Louisiana and is recovering from his injuries. Deputies from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office visited him to show support and recognize his strength and resilience. The Baton Rouge Soccer Club confirmed that he is in a critical condition but his prognosis is good. The sheriff's team also presented Guilory with a motorcycle helmet from the Motors Division as a message of encouragement during his recovery. The shooting left one person dead and multiple injuries.
