Olmsted Falls, Ohio, recently hired Finance Director Eileen Egan has expressed her intention to increase the use of the State Treasury Asset Reserve of Ohio (STAR Ohio), an investment pool that allows government subdivisions to invest in high-grade, short-term securities with comparatively higher yields. Egan plans to keep a minimum balance in her checking account and contribute to STAR Ohio's 3.81% overnight interest rate. Since 1995, STAR Ohio has maintained Standard & Poor’s highest rating (AAAm), demonstrating its soundness and security.
