Konnor Griffin, a 19-year-old shortstop, has signed a nine-year, $140 million contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates, the largest in club history. The deal includes escalators that could increase the total value to $150 million. This comes less than a week after Griffin made his Major League Baseball debut for the Pirates. The Pirates selected Griffin with the ninth overall pick in the 2024 amateur draft and he has impressed teammates with his maturity and unique skillset.
