The FIFA World Cup is set to take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, with no parking or tailgating allowed at the site. The expected sellout crowd for all eight games, including the world championship, will require transit or rideshare. NJ Transit is building a new bus terminal at the stadium and the Turnpike will build a temporary ramp for buses coming from New York City. The limited parking available at the American Dream mall for FIFA ticket holders is also limited. The Turnpige Authority has approved $4 million for backup buses, and has ordered 85 buses. This could lead to a month-long Toll of Commuting as New Jersey becomes the center of the event.
