Broward business owners are claiming that a $9 million street improvement project is causing financial harm to their businesses. Arturo Montilla, who operates "Mattress & Furniture 4 Less" in Hallandale Beach, has stated that customers are not visiting his store due to the construction outside his door. The second phase of the project, which began in October, has already driven away customers. The city has encouraged the public to keep visiting businesses affected by the project and offered special deals at restaurants on the street. However, the project continues until early next year.
