American Cinematheque's annual film festival, "Bleak Week: Cinema of Despair," will return to Los Angeles from June 1-7. The festival will be held at various venues across the United States, Canada, England, Scotland, Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile. This year, American Cinemathequers has partnered with independent cinemas, film organizations, and filmmakers. The 2026 programming marks the largest expansion yet. Pay-TV network Turner Classic Movies will present a selection of films on May 31.
