Florida Legislature passes bills on e-bike safety, armed professors and more

The Florida Legislature has passed several bills, including bills that could impact every corner of South Florida, including new voter ID rules, e-bike safety measures, and allowing trained college staff to carry guns on campus. If signed into law, Floridians would have to provide proof of citizenship to register to vote and use student IDs and retirement center IDs as forms of identification when voting. The bill includes a bill allowing professors and campus staff to train as "guardians" and carry guns, similar to the K-12 guardian program passed after the Parkland school shooting. The governor's budget proposal includes $6 million to implement this program.
