The Alaska House unanimously rejected the Senate's version of the state operating budget, sending the $13.9 billion spending plan to a conference committee. This comes after the Senate passed their budget version, which includes a $1,150 Permanent Fund Dividend. The conference committee resolves differences between the two chambers and delivers a compromise report, which requires a simple majority in both chambers to be passed. The Senate will appoint Sens. Lyman Hoffman, Bert Stedman, and Mike Cronk, as representatives from both chambers. The House still needs to pass the capital budget, which currently sits in the House Finance Committee.
