The Houston Astros are in last place in the American League West at 9-16 and have only a 17.4 percent chance to play in October. Despite this, Yordan Alvarez, a 28-year-old DH/left fielder, has been performing well with a 1.203 OPS and MLB-leading 10 home runs. He is currently playing well despite a previous injury-marred year, and he is worth a premium at $26.8 million per year through 2028. However, Alvarez is not expected to be traded for a rental due to his contract with the Houston Astros. Other potential landing spots include the Marlins, the Brewers, and the Cubs. However they are not likely to need another slugger.
