The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has temporarily allowed widespread sales of a higher ethanol gas blend (E15), in an effort to reduce consumer prices that have been rising since the Iran war began. The sale of E15, which can contribute to harmful air pollution, is typically discontinued in summer due to its high levels of corrosive ethanol. However, not all experts are convinced that the move will significantly lower gas prices. The move could be seen as a cost for consumers, as E15 isn't available in all states and some don't have the necessary infrastructure or supply of ethanol to increase use.
