Marco Rubio Says Iran Team Welcome At World Cup, But With 1 Big Condition

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated that the country has no objections to Iranian players participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, he warned that they would not be allowed to bring with them individuals with ties to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). President Donald Trump also stated that his administration would not want to affect the athletes. The 2026 soccer World Cup will take place across the United States, Mexico and Canada. There is no suggestion that Iran will withdraw or be banned from the tournament.
