Former Major League Soccer players Derrick Jones and Yaw Yeboah have been banned for life for gambling on matches. The pair were placed on administrative leave in 2025 after suspicious betting alerts were received by the league. The investigation found extensive gambling by the players over the 2024 and 2025 seasons, including on their own matches. Both players also likely shared inside information with other bettors. The league has previously disciplined players for gambling, including Sporting Kansas City's Felipe Hernandez and former Toronto Raptors center Jontay Porter.
