Budapest, Hungary, has been recognised as a UNESCO City of Design, where centuries of artistic heritage meet with a vibrant contemporary creative scene. The city's architecture, including the Hungarian Parliament Building and Matthias Church, are among the most striking examples of the Neo-Gothic revival architecture. The Museum of Ethnography, which will relocate to a new building in 2022, has received multiple awards for its architecture and exhibitions exploring Hungarian folk culture alongside ethnographic artifacts from beyond the region. Additionally, the city's contemporary arts scene is represented by institutions such as the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall, the Festival Theater, and the Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art. The culinary scene also reflects a unique blend of heritage and culture, with seven of the country's 10 Michelin-starred restaurants featuring seasonal local ingredients.
