NBA: Las Vegas, Seattle take a big step towards getting expansion teams

The National Basketball Association Board of Governors voted in favour of exploring bids for expansion teams in Las Vegas and Seattle. The decision does not guarantee the teams will receive any additional teams, but allows the league to formally explore the opportunities. The bids are expected to fetch between $7 and $10bn per team. If successful, this could be the most significant expansion step since the Charlotte Bobcats joined in 2004.
