Sterling wins Nederland mayor's race after recount

Nichole Sterling narrowly defeated incumbent Billy Giblin in Nederland's mayoral race after a recount. The new mayor will face decisions about public safety and economic growth in the small mountain town. The initial results showed Giblin ahead by a single vote. Counting overseas and cured ballots helped change the situation, leading to an automatic recount.
