The upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, is being released in theaters after it took years to bring the partial story of the King of Pop's life to life. The film, which concludes in 1988, does not include any mention of the multiple sexual abuse allegations Jackson faced throughout his life. This was one of many reasons it took so long to bring Michael Jackson's story to light. Hollywood was reluctant to work with Michael Jackson during his life, as Jackson had already starred in several films and wanted to make more films. The biopic's first posthumous release was a documentary about Jackson's final tour, which generated $72 million in the U.S., $188 million in DVD sales and $25 million in DVDs. The process involved hundreds of people interviewed for the film, including Jackson's own autobiography and Oprah Winfrey's special filmed at Neverland Ranch.
