Islanders get back into playoff spot, hold off red-hot Blue Jackets 1-0

The New York Islanders secured a 1-0 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets, securing their second and final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. Bo Horvat and Ilya Sorokin scored the goals in the first period, with the win moving the Islanders closer to the bottom of the standings. Despite a strong seven-game point streak, the team was unable to extend their lead. The win also allowed the team to draw level with Columbus on 85 points, but they still hold third place in the Metropolitan Division.
