The White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting, which allegedly involved alleged shooter Cole Allen, has sparked renewed political vitriol. The left has labelled President Trump a threat to democracy, while others have labelled him as a Nazi, fascist, or Gestapo. Allen, who was charged with attempting to assassinate Trump, sent messages to his relatives prior to the attack expressing his intention to take violent action against the administration. In his anti-Trump manifesto, Allen called himself the "Friendly Federal Assassin" and planned to target administration officials from the highest-ranking to lowest. He also stated that he was willing to kill everyone in the room if it was possible to reach his targets. The incident resulted in the death of both President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
