Las Vegas homebuilders’ sales, construction plans keep sliding

Homebuilder confidence in the United States fell sharply last month, with Las Vegas seeing a decrease in sales and construction plans. Las Vegas-based Home Builders Research reported that in March, 694 net sales in Southern Nevada were down 14 percent from the same month last year. This marked the lowest March sales total since 2015. Builders also pulled out of 931 new-home permits, down 6.7% from the previous year, signalling a decrease of overall construction plans and a decrease overall homebuilder confidence. The National Association of Home Builds attributed this drop to economic uncertainty, rising construction costs and interest rates.
