Filmmakers Emma Wall and Betsy Hershey have produced their feature debut, "Just Look Up," a documentary about the work and impact of American activist group Climate Defiance. The film, which premiered at CPH:DOX and is set to go to the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, is influenced by Oscar-winning director Adam McKay, who was a key influence on the project. The documentary, which is world premiering at CPP:DOx and headed to the International Documentary Federation, centers on Climate Defiant founder Michael Greenberg, who aims to end fossil fuel extraction on U.S. federal lands and waters and elevate climate change to a top-three political issue in American politics. The filmmakers were able to film with Climate Defiation, often dealing with high-profile events where they would encounter high-ranking figures such as Bill of America CEO Brian Vance and U.K. vice-president J. Vance. They also had to be flexible and flexible due to the need for legal support.
