EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin has criticized Rep. Rosa DeLauro for being "uninformed" during a heated congressional budget hearing, accusing the Connecticut Democrat of suggesting he drink weed killer during a discussion of the EPA's duty to protect Americans from climate change. DeLauro, the ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee, argued that the EPA’s budget proposal “reads like a climate change denier's manifesto” and asked the EPA chief to justify abandoning the agency's duty of protecting Americans from global climate change by ignoring major Supreme Court cases. Despite this, former Republican New York congressman, Zeuldin, defended himself and accused DeLauros of being uninformed and making up a lot of cases. He also commented on the controversy after the hearing, calling it "a remarkable self-implosion" by DeLuaro.
