A 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing over 2,800 feet of copper wire from across San Mateo County. The wire was stolen between February 1 and March 18 from various locations across the county. The Sheriff's Office identified the suspect after tracking a vehicle to a scrap metal facility using an automated camera. The suspect was also found with additional copper cable, illegal drugs, and other items.
