Indian actor Sayani Gupta has made her Directorial debut with short film "Aasmani," a project she has been working towards for 17 years. The film follows the story of an elderly woman who bonds with her granddaughter to prevent a sale. The cast includes Revathi, Daria Bedi, Abhonest Kaul, and Nikkhil Advani. This marks Gupta's debut for the Film and Television Institute of India alumna, known for her unconventional acting style and preference for unconventional material. The screenplay has won numerous awards including the New York Screenplay Competition, the Independent Short Awards LA, the Los Angeles Movie and Music Video Awards, the Cambridge Short Film Festival and F.A.R.O.
