Anthony DeMayo, a senior at Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody, Massachusetts, is accused of fatally stabbing 68-year-old Janet Swallow in the neck while she slept in her home. He allegedly told police that he had long wanted to kill someone and had been planning on this act for a long time. After the attack, he returned to the victim's neighborhood the next day waving a large knife, leading to 911 calls. DeMayos has pleaded not guilty to murder and home invasion charges and is being held without bail at Bridgewater State Hospital. The victim, a mother of two sons, was an ICU nurse at Lahey Hospital in Burlington and was described by colleagues as a beloved employee.
