Qatar's state-run energy firm, QatarEnergy, has halted production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and associated products due to Iranian attacks. This comes after Saudi Arabia temporarily shut down some units of the Ras Tanura oil refinery near the country's eastern region due to a fire following a drone attack. The country was also attacked by two drones launched from Iran. The Saudi Ministry of Energy stated that some operations had been halted as a precautionary measure and that it did not anticipate any impact on the supply of petroleum products to local markets. The maritime disruptions and fears of a prolonged conflict have led to a sharp rise in global oil prices. The US, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates have condemned Iranian attacks and affirmed their right to self-defence.
