British artist and filmmaker Stanley Schtinter has created a documentary, Last Movies, which world premiered at the Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival. The film, based on his book with the same title, is titled "remapping" the 20th Century via celebrities' final films before their deaths. The idea was inspired by the assassination of former Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme and the suggestion of how history could be remapped according to who saw what last. SchtInter's research involved hundreds of thousands of celebrities and public figures, studying them in libraries, and their friends. The director believes that using this method of organizing history can reveal holes and biases in the established historical narrative.
