The sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, which made a record $327 million at the global box office in 2006, has had a global promotional campaign and held its world premiere at the Lincoln Center in New York City on April 20. The European premiere was held on April 22 in London and there have also been events in Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai and Milan. The sequel stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Justin Theroux, and Kenneth Branagh as the main additions to the cast. David Frankel, who directed the first film, returns to helm the sequel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna.
