Providers suggest caution as more turn to AI for health answers

Artificial Intelligence (AI) search engine tools like Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT are becoming increasingly popular due to their easy-to-understand results. However, providers have warned that quick answers may not always be accurate, as AI only responds to the user's request. A recent study in Nature Medicine found that ChatGpt Health's performance in a structured test of triage recommendations was particularly poor in serious and urgent cases, including low-risk situations (35%) and emergencies (48%) and high-risk cases. The problem is that AI responds only to what you tell it, not the patient's medical history, history, environment, and real-time assessment.
