After apologising for the use of generative AI in the opening credits of the season 4 episode of the show, Ascendance of a Bookworm studio Wit has replaced the opening scene. The studio confirmed that it investigated the issue and promised to replace the art before episode 2. This is not the first time the AI has been used in an anime show, with previous controversies involving ChatGPT in German subtitles and Amazon using AI in its English subtitles for other shows.
