The news was shared during Eddie Murphy's American Film Institute Life Achievement Award ceremony on April 18. The couple confirmed their relationship in 2021 and they married in 2025. Although they have previously worked together, their children met through Jasmin Lawrence's uncle. Murphy confirmed their wedding plans in May 2025 without a large ceremony.
