David Allan Coe, known for his controversial songs and performances, has died at the age of 86. Coe rose to fame in 1973 after Tanya Tucker's "Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone) and later signed with Columbia Records. His first studio album was "The Mysterious Rhinestone Cowboy" in 1974 and "You Never Even Called Me By My Name" in 1975. His controversial albums in the '70s and '80s included racial slurs and homophobic content. In 2015, Coe pleaded guilty to impeding and obstructing tax laws and was sentenced to three years of probation and nearly $1 million in tax.
