Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, encouraged Kansas City kids to read at Lead to Read KC event. The event took place as part of the 15 in the Mahomies Foundation, encouraging children to read for 15 minutes a day outside of school. Mahomes read to approximately 3,000 students during the Reading Rally, an event designed to get kids excited about books. He emphasized the importance of reading in everyday life, including in football and beyond. The rally aims to build long-term confidence in reading while supporting students with positive role models.
