Kirk McKinney and his brother Jacob McKinney, who launched the Massachusetts junk removal and reselling business, Junk Teens, launched the company in 2000 with $4,000 invested in a used 2006 Ford F-150. The brothers used the internet like a free business school to learn about taxes, legal structure, and operations. The company is set to bring in $3.04 million in revenue and over $686,000 in net profit by 2025. Today, the company operates two Massachusetts locations, five dump trucks, and a workforce made up largely of students.
