The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is warning travelers to expect long wait times at airports across the country due to the partial government shutdown, resulting in a long wait time at airports. The Transportation Security Association (TASA) is not providing full pay to TSA agents due to a partial shutdown and a lack of full pay. The Department of Homeland Security has said it will send IMMIGRATION and CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT AGENTS to airports to assist with airport security. This comes as President Donald Trump has threatened to deploy ICE agents to airports across America if the Democrats do not allow for the function of immigration agents. The ICE agents are not trained in the standard airport security screening period and have been told to undergo several-month training. The White House Border Patrol CZAR TOM HOMAN says IMMigrration and CustOMS Enforcer Agents will assist with security at airports but it is unclear how this will be implemented. Meanwhile, more than 400 TSA agents have quit so far and over 400 have been deputized so far. The TSA has been warned of sickness and shortages at airports and long waits at airports, leading to sick calls and shortfalls at passengers.
