Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) player, Sergi Palencia, was pelted with drinks thrown by Cruz Azul fans after LAFC had taken a 3-0 lead in the Concacaf Champions Cup Quarterfinal match at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. The incident occurred when Palencia had dropped to the ground with an apparent injury and the drinks were thrown from people in the crowd. Despite this, Palencia was able to move away from the objects and they continued to fly onto the turf for several seconds. The game ended in a 2-0 victory for LAFC with goals from Son Heung-Min and David Martínez.
