A resident from Mount Prospect, Illinois, set up a meeting to sell jewelry to someone they had connected with through an online marketplace. The attempted robbery occurred at a Subway restaurant at around 7:45 p.m. on Monday night. The suspect, described as Black, approached the victim and demanded to inspect the jewelry before finalizing the transaction. The victim managed to retrieve the item before the suspect fled the scene. The police have issued safety tips for those using online marketplaces to buy or sell locally in person.
